The state: Sociological Reflection by M. Weber

Abstract

An attempt of correlating classical sociological views about the nature of the state and the specifics of functioning of the state authority with modern realities of Ukrainian statehood was made. The conclusion about immutability of an essence of the state and today’s relevance of the thesis, which M. Weber formulated, was made. The assumption about transformation the state as social institution to state as social organization in the process of its development was surmised. Under present-day conditions, the formation of states on the post-soviet area occurred as the formation of the social organization. Thus, types of social actions, which M. Weber created, in its application for the analysis of the context of the modern Ukrainian statehood, allow noting that the expectation and support of the rational type by the public is representative for it. But these expectations are not live up often due to inclusion and influence of features of the affective type
