Especially the Study of Safety as a Social Phenomenon

Abstract

In article on the basis of the relationship of the terms "security" and "safety", referring to a typology of definitions of the concept of security developed by V. Lipkan, and systematization of aspects of his study, presented in the works of V.Rodachin, clarified the meaning of "safety", and also defined the main directions of his research as a social phenomenon. Safety is considered as a component of the embodiment of the safety culture, complex entity, which involves the formation of motivation the safe way of life, determine the direction of the underlying culture of safe behavior and the development of competencies such as the formation of a complex of knowledge and skills for timely identification of possible security threats, knowledge of the standard rules of behavior in extreme situations, ability to implement actions for self-preservation. Among the possible sociological areas of study selected subjective-objective, structural-functional, social, cultural and scientific. The last of these is most promising based on its complexity, the possibility of generalization of the previous three.
