Abstract
The article focuses on the analysis of consumption problems in the sociological discourse. The attention is focused on the historical and sociological analysis of the study of the problems of consumption. The basic theory, which focuses on consumer issues, sociologists and philosophers of different schools of thought. The paradigms are presented in the chronological order. The link between theoretical comprehension of consumption and contemporary situation in the current society is given.
