The Role of Media in Shaping Public Opinion on People with Disabilities: Peer Reviews

Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of methodological and theoretical basics of research of media as a specific factor of public opinion concerning such social group as persons with disabilities. The author analyzes both theoretical basics and empirical data of her own research concerning the role, place and function of media in public opinion formation process concerning indicated specific social group. Significant attention in the article is paid to life success concept of persons with disabilities as a factor which can influence the formation of tolerant public opinion about persons with disabilities.
