Science School in High School: Problems of Revival
Abstract
The article provides author's interpretation of the essence of the scientific school , reveals the peculiarities of functioning of scientific schools in contemporary social transformations. Worldwide known Kharkiv scientific schools, originating in Kharkov National University, Polytechnic and Aviation Institutes, as well as other high schools of the city are listed. The phenomenon of "brain drain" that has a destructive influence on the state of domestic science schools is analyzed. The problem of relevance / irrelevance of intellectual potential of science in society is considered. The conclusion is that the most promising are today exactly scientific schools in high education establishments as the most motivated to a search for original creative solutions to work in new directions in different scientific fields or on the intersection of sciences, to involvement of young scientists from students. Examples of functioning of scientific schools in Kharkiv Humanitarian University “People's Ukrainian Academy” are provided.
