Abstract

The article analyzes the prospects of using geoinformation technologies to assess the competitiveness of territories within the framework of e-government development. Attention is focused on the relevance of the topic due to rapid digitalization, decentralization processes and increasing social demands that encourage the introduction of innovative approaches in the field of public administration. Geoinformation analysis is seen as a key tool for combining, visualizing, and evaluating spatial data necessary for informed decisions in the public sector. The paper summarizes previous research on e-government, including the analysis of technical, social, and legal aspects. The authors draw attention to the limited research aimed at integrating geographic information systems into e-government practices. The insufficient use of GIS in the processes of assessing the competitiveness of territories is revealed, which emphasizes the need to develop new management approaches. The methodological approach of the study includes systematization, analysis, generalization and deductive methods, which allowed a deeper understanding of the essence of e-government and the possibilities of its modernization using GIS. The main content of the article reveals the concept of competitiveness of territories assessed through indicators of economic growth, living standards, access to basic services, development of innovations and management efficiency. The importance of geoinformation analysis for increasing transparency and efficiency of management decision-making is emphasized. The need to introduce GIS into e-government processes against the background of digital transformations is highlighted. The analysis of international experience in the use of geographic information technologies in European countries, such as Germany, Denmark, Finland, and Switzerland, demonstrates the effectiveness of GIS integration into public administration strategies.
