Linguistics in the media paradigm: introduction
Abstract
The present article focuses on the so-called media turn in linguistics connected with communication studied as a semiotic complexity. The concept of medial format is vied as a communication channel, a form of information transmission, a multimodal / polycode phenomen. The article reveals situations of semiotically complex communication where cognitive processes are stimulated by not only verbal signs but also nonverbal signs / code.
