Synthesis and investigation of molecular and crystal structure of coordination polymer of neodime nitrate(III) with 4,4,10,10-tetramethyl-1,3,7,9-tetraazospiro[5.5]undecan-2,8-dion (spirocarbon – SK)
Abstract
Binuclear complex [Nd(NO3)2(H2O)3(C11H20N4O2)]2(NO3)2 has been synthesized for the first time and its structure has been determined. Crystals are monoclinic: sp. gr. P21/n, a = 6.52298(19) Å, b = 15.6582(4) Å, c = 21.7907(6) Å, β = 94.800(3), V = 2217.85(10) Å3, dcalc = 1.87 g/cm3, Z = 2. The neodime ion is coordinated with two oxygen atoms of two ligand molecules connected by symmetry operation [-x,-y+1,-z+1], with two bidentant nitrate-anion and three water molecules. One of nitrate-anions do not form coordination bond with metal. The coordination number of neodime is 9, the coordination polyhedron is highly twisted tree-cap trigonal prism, oxygen atoms O1, O2, O7 and O4, O5, O9 are placed in the base. Angles between the prism bases are 21.4, angles between adjacent lateral faces are 53-72°. The coordination with the metal atom decreases bond angles O7-N5-O6 [115.7(3)°] and O9-N6-O10 [117.7(3)°] in coordinated nitrate-ions.
