H NMR investigation of the hetero-association of nogalamycin with aromatic anticancer antibiotics
Abstract
A complexation of antibiotic nogalamycin (NOG) with anticancer antibiotics, daunomycin, mitoxantrone and actinomycin D, was investigated in aqueous solution by means of 1H NMR spectroscopy (500 MHz). Equilibrium hetero-association parameters of the molecules studied were obtained and the most probable structures of 1:1 hetero-complexes in solution were calculated. It was shown that NOG forms complexes with aromatic antibiotics, characterized by intermediate energetic parameters as compared with the self-association parameters of these molecules. Conclusions regarding the distinctive features of 1:1 hetero-complexes of anticancer antibiotics in solution were made.
