The Military Conflict on Southeast of Ukraine (2014 – 2015) as a Source of the Social Trauma
Abstract
The article presents the analytical picture of the deployment of the military conflict in the south-east of Ukraine (2014 – beg. 2015). An attempt is made to identify its causes, the participants, the nature and social implications. It is substantiates the opinion that the armed conflict has the character of a hybrid war, because it has the following features: the traditional and unconventional methods of warfare; pseudo propaganda information messages; the presence of the civilian militias and regular troops in the separatist structures; mimicry tactics and strategy of struggle. The reasons of the conflict, in particular are the aggravation of political relations between the pro-Ukrainian and pro-Russian citizens of Ukraine, supported by the Russian Federation and the clash of two value-regulatory systems: the old, based on the distribution of corrupt relationships, and a new, pro-European, based on legal principles. It is revealed that military conflict has all the hallmarks source of deep social trauma for millions of people, which require recovery decades. Diplomatic compromise ways of resolving conflict are offered.
