Concept of Multiculturalism Will Kymlicka

Abstract

This article analyzes the main ideas of the project socio philosophical multiculturalism Canadian philosopher, Professor Vill Kymlick. First of all, is the idea that in modern democratic societies, which are the core values is respect for individual freedom and choice, there is an open, mobile and voluntary form of multiculturalism. Secondly, every society consists of certain social groups, which has both general and special rights in order to ensure equality of rights and opportunities. And finally, the third, which is the main concept of multiculturalism Vill Kymlick, it recognizes the need for special societal culture that supports and promotes the autonomy of the individual. After societal culture provides its members not only intelligent life in the various spheres of human activity, but also the freedom to move within its societal culture, to distance themselves from specific cultural roles, select those aspects of culture that are most worthy of development.
