Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of theoretical and methodological potential of the homologous and heterologous models of study of youth musical preferences. Homologous model bases on the mechanism of “bounding” and links musical preferences with social distinctions of listeners. Heterologous model bases on the mechanism of “bridging” and removes social boundaries in musical preferences. Today studying of the youth musical preferences through the prism of the heterologous model becomes topical, that allows us to escape from the influence of social differences of listener to his musical preferences and to study youth musical preferences through their communicative practices.
