Abstract

Main trends of development of Ukrainian regional mass media in globalized communication space are considered in the paper. It is emphasized that the impact of globalization is complex and controversial, but the opposition "global vs local" is not antagonistic. It is shown how globalization of communication space affects functioning of regional mass media in the national media system and how exactly media organizations of the local level join the global communicative trends and how they react on them in their activity. It is proved that the impact of globalization on local media has greatly complicated the information and communication processes in the society.
