Abstract

The article has made an attempt to re-evaluate the Lenin’s review of the collection of stories «A Dozen of Knives into the Back of Revolution» (1921) by Arkady Averchenko and show it from the modern perspective. Averchenko was probably the only emigrant writer who fought against the Bolshevik Regime, which recommended his works for publishing (what a paradox!). 100 years after the October Uprising have passed, and one can still hear invariably «fresh laughter of today» (P. Potemkin), bitter and sad; the laughter of the well-known satirist, that sounds both biting and disturbing.
