Specificity of Representation of Knowledge about the Past in the Present Media Space (Exemplified by Vasyl’ Karazin’s Biography)

Abstract

Specificity of media reflection of historical events, phenomena, processes was studied in the present paper. Media space as one of subspaces of social space (according to P. Bourdieu’s theory) was characterized. Transformations of the form and content of media products were analyzed exemplified by works about founder of Kharkiv University Vasyl’ Karazin (1773–1842). Impact of media content at perception of the past that are formed in collective historical memory was described
