Abstract

Scandinavian pattern’s influence on surface air temperature anomalies over Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region using reanalysis data of the NCEP / NCAR and method of "composites" has been analyzed. It is shown that the oscillation in positive phase is accompanied by significant cooling in Volgograd and Rostov regions of Russia, as well as to the east and north of Ukraine in January and February. The cause of these anomalies is essential in shaping the sustainable transport of arctic air masses from the north-east with a positive phase of the oscillation, when surface anticyclone over Scandinavia is most developed.
