Acid-base equilibria of sulfonephthalein indicators in micellar solutions of cationic dimeric surfactant
Abstract
The acid-base equilibria of sulfonephthalein indicators in micellar solutions of dimeric bis-quaternary ammonium surfactant (16-4-16) have been investigated. A differentiating impact of dimeric surfactant micelles toward acidic ionization of sulfonephthalein indicators has been found. This effect is more expressed than in usual cationic surfactant micelles. The electrostatic potential value in dimeric surfactant micelles was estimated to be about 120 mV.
