Protolytic equilibria and spectral characteristics of fluorescein isothiocyanate in different liquid media
Abstract
Protolytic equilibria of fluorescein isothiocyanate in butyrylcholin esterase solutions and in ethanol-water mixture (50% wt) have been studied. The pKa values of stepwise dissociation of dye are calculated in investigated liquid media. Spectral characteristics of indicator conjugate forms have been obtained and conclusions were drawn regarding the nature of tautomerism of fluorescein isothiocyanate.
