The mechanisms of divalent metals' cations interaction with the systems of Na+- and H+-dependent Ca2+ efflux from liver mitochondria has been studied. The inhibition of Na+- and H+-dependent Ca2+ efflux from mitochondria by divalent metals` cations has been proved. Kinetic analysis reveals the mainly competitive inhibition of Na+ and H+-dependent Ca2+ efflux from mitochondria by metals` cations. Potency of inhibition in both cases increases in the same order: Ba2+ < Mg2+ < Sr2+ < Mn2+. The results of correlation analysis shows that power of inhibition of the Na+- and H+-dependent Ca2+ efflux from mitochondria by divalent metals` cations depends on their physical-chemical parameters, especially on their crystallographic radius, hydration enthalpy, stability constants of metal cations complexes with oxygen-containing ligands, ionization potential, etc. The conclusion is made that Ca2+ ions translocation by the mitochondrial exchangers and its inhibition by the cations of divalent metals are connected with their interaction with the oxygen-containing ligands of the Ca2+-transporting systems and are accompanied with the ions reversible hydration-dehydration and unaccompanied cooperative interaction during banding its with this systems` ion-transporting centers.
