Abstract

The article is devoted to a critical interpretation of the metaphorical kind of language of sociology and political sociology, in particular, on the term "political space". An attempt to critically absolutize the metaphor of "political space" by expanding it with the secondary metaphor "the destruction of political space" is made in the article. The special urgency of this problem for the political sociology of the divided societies is substantiated. The political situation and socio-political processes in Ukraine 2012-2013 are taken as a test case. The interdisciplinary logic of critical and historical sociology is applied to test the effectiveness of the critical absolutism of the metaphor "the destruction of political space". The conclusion about the productivity of the metaphor "the destruction of political space" in the formation of hypotheses in the analysis of divided societies in political sociology is made.
