The concept of South-Eastern Ukraine as the frontier and dual social and geohistorical region

Abstract

The historical and geographical process of forming geohistorical South-East Ukraine as frontier region is considered. This region served function of buffer between the Islamic and Christian worlds civilization long time. Understanding of the region as a dual, combining some features of the neighboring regions by the geohistorical concept is substantiated. The determining factors of frontier and the duality of the region are identified and analyzed. Geohistorical and socio-geographic features that are common between the South-East Ukraine and surrounding regions geohistorical are defined. Is conclusion that marked signs have played a key role in the genesis of regional anthroposphere.
