FORMING OF GEODEMOGRAPHY AS A NEW INTERDISCIPLINARY KNOWLEDGE DOMAIN

Abstract

 A scheme of the forming of geodemography as a new interdisciplinary knowledge domain are presented in this paper. The article introduct the rationale and development of geodemography as a new scientific field that is formed at the intersection of demography, population geography and regional economy. At one time in the sciences of the population significantly strengthened attention to the territorial organization of the population and created a new discipline - Geography of Population. Nowadays, with the proclamation in Ukraine the regional economy and the state regional policy faces new challenges, including official regionalization of the country and the administrative-territorial reform. An important component of national regional policy should be a regional population policy that requires new methodological principles related to the problem of regionalization of the country.
