GEOGRAPHICAL «DIASPORA» IN RELATED SCIENCES: ADAPTATION PROBLEMS

Abstract

The contribution of geographers in the development of related sciences - economics, international economic relations, cartography, ecology, etc., in the internal community of which a kind of geographical "diaspora" has developed, is considered. It is emphasized that the most important component of Geography - Economic Geography - in some cases has common object-matter, subject-matter and method of study with economic sciences. But there is some misunderstanding of the circumstances and  wereby there are certain difficulties in cooperation of economic geographers with economists in research projects, in specialized Dissertation Advisory Committees, dissertation opponency. The general development of national science suffers.
