National linguistic picture of the world: view of A. Potebnja

Abstract

In the article the views O. O. Potebnja in the national language picture of the world, highlighted history of the issue. The picture of the world considered as the world view of each person and the ethnic group, the result of perception and understanding of the world, reflected in the language. Analyzed opinions of A. Potebnja on specific formation of the national language picture of the world in the minds of young people, the complexity that arise during this process. The article examines the causes of the phenomenon of bilingualism, traced the concept of «native language» in conditions bilingualism.
