Abstract

The full-scale war and economic instability have significantly altered the operating environment of Ukrainian enterprises and necessitated the transformation of traditional approaches to crisis management. Under these conditions, digital transformation is becoming an important component of crisis management strategy, ensuring business process continuity, real-time risk monitoring, and enhanced enterprise adaptability. The use of artificial intelligence, Big Data, cloud technologies, the Internet of Things, digital twins, and predictive analytics facilitates the transition from a reactive model of crisis management to a predictive and adaptive one. Digitalization is of particular importance in the context of Ukraine’s post-war recovery and European integration. In the current environment, digital transformation has emerged as one of the key factors in ensuring enterprise resilience and long-term development.

Problem statement. Despite the rapid development of digital technologies and their increasing adoption by enterprises, the integration of digital tools into crisis management systems remains insufficiently systematic. Technological solutions and traditional crisis management mechanisms are often considered separately, limiting enterprises’ ability to anticipate crises, respond promptly to risks, and maintain economic resilience under conditions of high uncertainty.

Unresolved issues. Despite a substantial body of research on digitalization and crisis management, comprehensive approaches to developing a digital model of enterprise crisis management remain insufficiently elaborated. The relationships between an enterprise’s level of digital maturity, its adaptability to crisis-related challenges, and the effectiveness of managerial decision-making in a highly turbulent environment require further investigation.

Purpose of the article. The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical rationale and identify practical directions for the digitalization of enterprise crisis management in order to enhance enterprise resilience and adaptability under conditions of economic instability.

Main material. The study is based on systemic and comparative approaches to analyzing the digital transformation of enterprise crisis management under conditions of economic instability. The article examines enterprise digital maturity and digital resilience, contemporary risk management tools, and the potential of artificial intelligence, Big Data, ERP, CRM, cloud technologies, IoT, Digital Twin, and predictive analytics to ensure business process continuity and adaptability. Based on a synthesis of European and U.S. experience, the study substantiates the prospects for adapting these approaches to the Ukrainian context and proposes a five-level Digital Crisis Management Framework designed to support risk monitoring and forecasting, managerial decision-making, and the adaptive recovery of enterprises.

Conclusions. The digital transformation of crisis management is defined as a comprehensive process of integrating advanced digital technologies into the strategic management system with the aim of enhancing enterprise adaptability, business process continuity, and economic resilience. A strategic priority for Ukrainian businesses is the development of Digital Economic Resilience through the use of artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, data-driven management, and integration into European digital ecosystems. The findings of the study can be used to improve crisis management systems and enhance the resilience and competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises in the wartime and post-war economy.
