Cyril and Methodius Subjects in Works of Odessa Historians of the XIXth – Early XXth Centuries

Abstract

One of priority items in Russian Empire historical science in XIX-early XX centuries was study of Cyril and Methodius educational mission. Certain contribution to the study of Cyril and Methodius problem was made by well-known scholars who acted at Odessa educational institutions: K. P. Zelenetskiy, Professor at Richellieu Lyceum, V. I. Grigorovich, F.I.Uspenskiy, M. G. Popruzhenko, Professors at University of  Novorossia. These subjects were reflected in works of various formats, including monographs, but the key factor stimulating the researches were millennial jubilees of Slavic first teachers.
