Ideology as a way of social integration, identification and mobilization of Ukrainian society in the context of globalization

Abstract

Solving the problems of social consolidation and integration of the country in the context of globalization requires the formation of a universal ideology and the elucidation of basic values. Further research needs to be done on how to ensure the consolidation of Ukrainian society and the country’s integration.

The paper objective is to find out the causes of the ideological crisis and to identify ways to achieve consolidation, self-identification, mobilization of Ukrainian society and integration of the country.

The current situation in the sphere of ideological support of state formation is characterized by the lack of scientific-historical “foundation” in the form of a harmonious concept of Ukrainian history; the presence in society of different, often disparate, collective identities; lack of a clear image of the future of countries, lack of understanding of development goals and strategies. And most importantly – the formality of actions, and in fact – the removal of the state from these activities.

This can be explained by the historical processes that took place in the Ukrainian lands; the repeated loss of the national elite throughout history; the inability of national historical science in the period of independence to form and popularize in the mass consciousness a holistic systemic vision of Ukrainian history; the policy of the national authorities during the period of independence which led to the deepening of social differentiation; the implementation of hybrid aggression by the Russian Federation on Ukraine.

Ways of consolidation, Ukrainian society and integration of the country are:

– use of solidarity as a development strategy;

– the discourse of truth as the basis of peaceful coexistence;

– interaction of the state and the public in developing unified concepts of the past and future of Ukraine;

– formation and popularization in the mass consciousness of a holistic systemic vision of Ukrainian history;

– search and promotion of unifying values in the mode of continuous and real dialogue with the society;

– formation of a unified cultural space, development of a common social culture for all citizens, solving problems of ethnic minorities;

– ensuring the irreversibility of our country's democratic choice, concentrating on priority areas of social development, enhancing political and legal culture, primacy of state political and cultural values over ethno-cultural and ethno-confessional ones;

– creation of decent living conditions for citizens, their social, economic, legal, political protection by the state, etc.
