Confrontation Strategy Regulative Potential in English Language Dialogical Discourse: Main Notions and Principles of Analysis

The article aims at formulating the general principles and describing the notions necessary for discourse strategy analysis, which are further employed for the study of confrontation strategy in English language dialogical discourse. This strategy regulative potential is analyzed on the material of characters speech fragments collected with the help of procedures that allow to select the strategic sense realizations. Global and local confrontation strategies are described as for their mental base and discourse forming abilities. The verbal means of regulation meant to construct confrontation are subjected to analysis in terms of speech strategies and tactics.
