In the article the author introduces a systemic methodological basis of solving the problem of oral actualization of English small folk texts on the basis of scientific knowledge of cognitive science and synergetics. Theoretical possibilities of carrying out an energetic analysis of the functional specificity of prosodic means that realize English small folk texts are outlined in the paper within the framework of a functional-and-pragmatic approach. The author also presents the results of an experimental study of prosodic organization of English small folk texts’ structural elements as well as the invariant intonation patterns of the analyzed genres.
