The historical source as a “trace of the past”: historico-epistemological analysis

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of a historical source as a “trace of the past” from the point of view of the historical epistemology. This approach allows us to represent the past as an object of the study of historian and present as an environment of his activities in the dialectical unity. Special attention is being paid to the steps of a historical research in accordance to this concept.
