Abstract

In this article the author provides an explanation of the current situation in Ukraine, namely the war in the east of the country, in terms of criminal processes in the Ukrainian society. The author tries to prove that residents of Donbas and the inhabitants of the whole country were and still are held hostage of the «criminal society», which was actually built in our state. That means that the root cause must be sought not in the regional differences in the perception of the world or in the linguistic and cultural preferences, but in the criminal subtext, that is closely related to the socio-economic and socio-political factors. «Criminal society» is a society that mentally lives according to the laws of criminal world. Criminal practices massively outspread to the whole society and make the survival of the majority of population possible. It is concluded that the destruction of «criminal society» is a common goal for the absolute majority of citizens of the country and guarantee of its unity.
