Industrial Objects as City-Creating Element in the second half of the XIX – early XX century (Based on Kharkiv Materials)

Abstract

 The main problem of the article is the influence of industrial objects at the modern city environment. The hypothesis of paper is suggestion, that plants and factories were crystallizing cores, which formed specific urban life style. Such aspects as location of plants and factories, transport system, social interaction between workers and entrepreneurs, appearance of ecological ideology are highlighted. Author gives some features of industrial landscape of modern Kharkiv in conclusion.
