Abstract

The article covers the history of foundation and the first steps of Kharkiv Regional Society of Historical and Cultural Heritage Protection. The author analyzes the organizational aspects of its foundation and activity, investigates a tight connection to the governmental institutions. During the 1960–1970s Kharkiv Regional Society of Historical and Cultural Heritage Protection actively participated in implementing a number of projects related to cultural landmarks protection.
