Abstract

The study is devoted to the analysis of street names and other toponymic objects in Kharkov, which, thanks to the decommunization law, acquired their historical, pre-revolutionary names. Since the appearance of the city is formed not only by its architecture, but also by the linguistic design of the urban environment, the study of the newest toponymy, especially already having a significant history, is an important task of modern science. The analysis of urbonyms and the processes of creating a new nomination is combined with the study of the linguistic specifics of street names.
