Theoretical Views on the Role of Education as a Factor of Stratification

Abstract

The article analyzes the conceptual and theoretical views on the role of educationofthe classics of sociological thought, draws attention to the methodology of studying the problem.It is noted that education in the theoretical heritage of sociologists is considered to be one of the factors of reproduction of the social structure of society. It is emphasized that the rethinking of the theoretical heritage as to the role of education in society is important for the analysis of the processes taking place in modern society. It is argued that the sociological approach allows to see that the system of education is directly dependent on the historical type of social structures, which determines its priority in sociological research.
