The two theoretical approaches to defining career «subjective» and «objectivist» are considered. For the «subjective» approach it is typical to define career as an personal; experience that connected with the employment of the individual. That point of view to defining the career through the prism of individual aspirations, values, desires, satisfaction, etc. «Objectivist» approach considers a career as an objective social phenomenon associated with both vertical and horizontal mobility of the individual in different areas of life official, professional, institutional status. Theories which relate to this area focus on the external manifestations of career process. ER -
