TERRITORIAL FEATURES AND WAYS OF IMPROVEMENT OF EDUCATION SYSTEM IN LUGANSK REGION

Abstract

The article deals with the results of the socio-geographical research of education system in Lugansk region. From the perspective of social geography proposed the interpretation of the essence of the concept of "education". The analysis of the functions of education, based on a generalization of the classifications identified socio-cultural, socio-economic and socio-political functions was conducted. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of the noosphere and ideological functions of education. Using the methods of space-time analysis performed grouping of districts and cities of regional subordination of Lugansk region on the development of the education system. Identified the problems and proposed directions for improvement of the education system in the region.
