In particular, the paper gives the definition of the concept of «self-realization» as the identification and development of human personal abilities in all areas of life; as the primary mechanism for obtaining and manifestation of human freedom. The concept of «professional self-realization» is defined as the process of substantiating the essential forces of the individual, expansion of the limits of the self in professional activity. Four successive stages are singled out in the structure of professional selfrealization: professional self-determination → professional self-identity → professional self-awareness → professional self-improvement. Professional selfdetermination is identified as a state of being in which a person may or not be controlled by his environment according to their choice. Professional self-identity can be defined as the degree to which an individual identifies with his or her professional group or organization including their system of symbols, values and beliefs. Professional self-awareness is representing the system response of individual’s ability to self-development in external practical activity. Effective professional selfimprovement involves maximum use of the accumulated experience, decisionmaking practices and knowledge.The main functions of professional self-realization (value orientation, cognitive, technological, communicative, managerial, legal, spiritual-moral, aesthetic, valeological, developing, educational, economic, hedonistic) are concretized. The internal (psychological) determinant of professional self-realization is defined the personal potential (epistemological, axiological, creative, communicative, professional, spiritual, etc.), the external determinant – the educational environment of the university. As a rule, the final result of professional self-realization refers to the setting the leader in a dynamic social life. ER -
