Assessment of ecological distribution network components within the landscapes of Kharkiv region

Abstract

Assessment of ecological network distribution within the landscapes of Kharkiv region showed that it is present within all physical geographical regions, but the proportion of these territories is very different. To optimize the ecological network we propose to allocate additional category of ecological corridors - local corridors. The borders of dean-valley complexes are proposed as the basis for their allocation where natural vegetation has preserved relatively limited natural composition and carries on limited anthropogenic load.
