Training of pupils to participate in the tournament of young geographers

Abstract

The main directions in the training of pupils to participate in the tournament of young geographers have been discussed in the article. Recommendations as to the preparation of the teams’ reports on the tournament, distribution and execution of roles by members of the teams during the tournament battles, strategy of scientific debate have been given. Common methodological guidance of training work with gifted pupils has also been identified which contributes to the formation of competencies required for participation in intellectual competitions in geography.
