Historical Culture of Katerinoslav Region and the Peculiarities of Formation of the Region’s Historical Memory

Abstract

The cognitive capabilities of regional historiography as a tool for the study of historical culture on the example of Ekaterinoslav / Dnipropetrovsk historiographical space are revealed. Specific characteristics which determine the quality parameters of the formation of Ekaterinoslav historical and historiographical culture are highlighted: they are «historiographical import» and fragmentation, discontinuity of the local historiography. The author argues that these factors continue to determine the style of thinking and ways of implementing of historical policy in the region.
