«Insaid» and «Alien» Symbols of Historical Memory in D. I. Yavornytsky`s Worldview and Intellectual Heritage

Abstract

The author explores the meaning of «own» and «alien» symbolism of historical memory in the context of the great Ukrainian historian D. I. Yavornytsky`s worldview and intellectual heritage. It is proven that the symbolism of historical memory, which is born and operates in a particular historical time and space, is closely linked to ethno-national, ethno-cultural, social, professional, moral and ethical, spiritual and religious consciousness of a person and a society. It is emphasized that the symbolism of historical memory plays a special role in restoration of the historical and national identities.
