Informative capabilities and Basic Terms of Modern Taphology

Abstract

Questions of taphology — necrology section examining the scope of human activities related to the burial of deceased members of society are always relevant to modern archaeological and historical science. In the studies of problems funeral rites researcher needs to understand its structure, to be able to operate with a clear conceptual and terminological system, to choose the appropriate methods for adequate reconstruction of a single burial practices. This work is an attempt to determine the appropriate structure «science of burial» and understand the terms that can be used in modern science. Further development of terminological apparatus will deepen scientific and methodological aspects of the study of the funeral rite as a unique process.
