Transition of the Pereslavl-Zalesski city under the control of Moscow's authority at the beginning of 14th century as a factor of its rise.

Abstract

The article describes the process of transition of the Pereslavl-Zalesski city under the Moscow princes` control at the beginning of the 14<sup>th</sup> century and one of the possible reasons for the extraordinary interest to this city by the power contenders in the North-Eastern Rus`. The author thinks that Pereslavl-Zalesski inherited the function of spiritual companion of the political capital from his predecessor (Pereyaslavl Russkiy), and the control upon this city could grant the church support to the power contender in North-Eastern Rus`.
