Roman Provincial Administration and the Eastern Policy in the Age of Julio – Claudians.

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of impact of the Roman eastern provincial administration on the foreign policy, especially of the relations between Roman Empire and theArsacidKingdom. The author states that Augustus had some skepticism about the provincial administration and only from the time of Tiberius it's influence becomes quite important and by the time of Nero even decisive. In the article, a new interpretation of the clash between Germanicus and Piso is presented.
