Abstract
Need of drained hydromorphic soils study is caused by their considerable spread and effects of their large-scale melioration.
In thearticle the periodsof meliorationof waterloggedsoils of Volyn regionand their resultssince the second halfof the XIX century were discussed. Thus, analyzing the long history ofthe studyof hydromorphic soils, the most important results were highlighted. The article researchcontinues toexplorethe traditionof hydromorphic soils of Volyn region.Inthis regard, analysis of theaspectsproposedin the article are necessary.
